Christmas In Chelsea
Chelsea Winter Village is a second year event building off the success of the debut Christmas in Chelsea 2024.
Chelsea Winter Village is a festive event held in the grounds of the historic Royal Hospital Chelsea, just off the King’s Road. Home of the Chelsea Flower Show, this new event honours the heritage of Chelsea Pensioners and the iconic venue itself.
The idea was born out of the stunning location, bringing it to life for winter in the same way that the Chelsea Flower Show transforms it for Summer. It will honour the rich heritage of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, founded in 1682 by King Charles II and home to the Chelsea Pensioners, retired veterans of the British Army. With its history and charm, the Royal Hospital provides a unique backdrop for this immersive Christmas experience.
Our ethos is to bring together independent businesses, artisans and creatives who all share a love of Christmas, to create a place which evokes the very best of the season in one place.
Event Location
Royal Hospital Chelsea is one of London’s most iconic landmarks, serving as home to the Chelsea Pensioners. With over 300 years of history, this Grade I listed building offers a majestic setting for Christmas in Chelsea.
The event will take place within the Hospital's beautiful Ranelagh Gardens and the internal alley that runs alongside Ranelagh Gardens in the South Grounds. The event space will be transformed into a dazzling winter scene, featuring a 1.5km light trail and Christmas village which will host food and beverage, winter socialising activities, traditional fun fairs and more.
Ticketed event customers for the Illuminations and Curling Club will access Ranelagh Gardens via London Gate and those non-ticketed for the free to access Winter Village will go via Barrack Gate. There is no access to any other area of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

During the event we will have a security team on site 24 hours a day.
When Chelsea Winter Village is open to the public our security and stewarding teams’ primary responsibility is the safety and security of guests, some of who are families with young children. They are also responsible for looking after the infrastructure and the park within our licensed area. We will be liaising with the police as part of our planning and they will be provided with details of our security plans.
